We still don't have snow here. Or, we have had it already many times but only for one day. I would prefer to have a white landscape instead of this brown-black!!!
On saturday it was a Christmas party of the pharmacy. We went to a Russian restaurant and at least for me it was a surprise that Russian food is really good! Lot's of meat, aaahh.
My life is boring at the moment. My usual day is that I stay at home the whole day trying to study but usually don't succeed in that. In the evenings I'm annoyed that I haven't done anything the whole day and still the next day is the same... I have to take more courses on spring semester, so I CAN'T stay at home every day doing nothing and getting bored. At least at the university I have to do something useful.
Yvonne: Good news: There is no limit in customs for carrying alcohol inside EU!
Unfortunately we can't have the housewarming party during your stay because none of my Fin-friends could come during week :(
Have a nice week!

Kalispera, you all!
Unbelievable, but we have the white hell here! Ok, whole Germany is full of snow, but especially the region around Münster is more than white! No trains left the railway station last night, hundred of people had to stay there the whole night. I don't when this happened the last time!
And we went today to the Christmas Market, drunk Glühwein! Hah, supercool! I really start to get Christmas mood! And after 5 years I finally bought trecking shoes today (which are normally essential for our study and the excursions...), also so cool!
Ah, and one advice: Don't go shopping after drinking Glühwein, you will buy EVERYTHING! Don't mind, now I have new gloves!
@ Eleni! Mono dio efdomades... :)! And I found all the pages for shuttle, trains, so on, no problem, we will manage it! Do you know if there is a limit of carrying alcohol from Germany to Finland? (EU?)
Ybovvn - 26. Nov, 16:50
Sorry others, some info for Yvonne:
I was thinking of what special food do German people eat. Only things I know is beer and sausages :) And sausages I don't like so much... But if you have somethings else special there you can bring it if you want to.
I have one sleeping bag that you can use. And a trekking mattress (not sure about the word, but the really thin one) and we could take the mattress cover of me bed, which is big enough for 2. It's a little bit hard but Geli slept on it and said that it's ok. Pillows I have for all of you, they are not sooo good but anyway. So, you only need two sleeping bags.
I'll try to find you the timetables for busses from the airport to Tampere.
See you soon!

Don't worry, Eleni, we are thinking already a lot about how much Alcohol we can carry, I mean, we only stay 4 or 5 days, we don't need so many clothes! And what we will take! What else should we bring than alcohol, also some special food? Or should it be a surprise? We are looking so much forward to it!
And I didn't know that you have a sauna, this is really great! And when is the housewarming party? During our stay?
I also drunk my first Glühwein yesterday (Jutta, how should I forget the dog, and our poster???)! So nice, cause shitty weather, really cold outside, and candles and Glühwein inside! Soooo great! I love the winter!
Ybovvn - 20. Nov, 14:38
Morning!
Perhaps 2 bags of Glühfix would be better for one bottle. But you can also put only one bag and perhaps a cinnamon stick, some cloves (I'm sorry I haven't heard the word before and had to look it up, but you might know it), perhaps some vanilla, a slice of orange and Stroh rum (ok, you up there can substitute with wodka) - would taste great!
Glad to hear, that it works out so well living together with Jarno. And I'm just a little bit jealous, mostly because of the sauna (I spent 4 days at home but I didn't have the time to use ours and in Vienna it's so expensive to go to a sauna and most of them are quite shitty with strange people).
Don't worry, it used to be very warm here as well but suddenly it became very cold. I don't know if there's snow in Vienna, but in the west we have, down where I live just 5 cm but up on the mountains it's quite a lot (and that's good, because I'm really looking forward to going skiing, a friend of mine who's in Canada already told me one month ago that he was going skiing and I was so jealous).
Have a nice weekend! Jutta

Hey, you have snow but I don't!!! hä? The whole autumn has been extremely warm here, somewhere I read that last time when it was as warm was 1960. But I think it'll snow soon.
We'll have housewarming party before x-mas and I would like to make some gluhwein. But: is it enough to put one bag of gluhfix/bottle? Jutta, help me, you are the expert!!! Talking about alcohol,Yvonne, you asked if you should bring some alcohol. Yes! I think it's much much cheaper there. In addition to what we'll drink during your stay we also need some for the housewarming party. How much hand luggage Ryanair allows? 5 kg's? That's a lot of vodka :) :) Just kidding, you can bring as much as you're willing to carry. Just bring the cheapest brands.
So, we are in the new flat now and everything has gone well! so, Geli, I can recommend it for you & Thomas. We've also had much less fights now because it's so much easier like this: 1) We both have our own keys, 2) We have 2 rooms instead of one, 3) I love our sauna! Also, our kitchen is still small, but bigger than before.
I spent last weekend in Copenhagen. I liked it there although it was raining. But I like the city and the people there are nice. Only thing that sucked was that we couldn't go out with ELina because we couldn't leave mother alone. Well, I think we can go out with Yvonne&co enough? right?
Have a nice weekend!

Hej girls!
Know what I did yesterday? I played some Tavli with my brother and had a hot chocolate with Amaretto - aah ... great memories...
Today I made my first walk in the snow and it was so nice. I always love the first snow, the sound it makes when you walk over it. But I know that I'll hate the snow in march. Sunday when I'm back in Vienna I'll also drink my first "Glühwein". Ok actually it's not really the first one. Last weekend I attended the "Weinwandertag", where you walk 12 km through wouds and fields and there are some stations where you can buy something to eat and drink and in the end you buy a wineglass for 5 euro and then you can taste as much wine as you want. Sounds nice??? Was very nice!!! And quite cold so I drank some "Glühwein" during the walk (honestly I felt a little bit like at our photography club party - do you remember the dog, Yvonni?).
As you can see, I still don't do anything. I don't want to start applying, I can't. But I will apply for a phd in the UK this week, I have to, the deadline is the 30th of november. The only problem is that I have to go to the other professor of my exam to ask for a reference and I'm a little bit afraid of it, because I think he knows that I was very annoyed of his stupid questions. Anyway, next week I have to go.
Ok, that'S it from me now. Filakia, Jutta

hey all together... I really started to study by now.. it's already my 3rd day!! the beginning is always the worst, i think. you don't understand a lot of the thing you started to read and are colouring the book over and over... well at least that's how it is with me. BUT!!!... I also did a really great thing today already. I ordered my personal caaaaaaaaar! *gg* finally. was also a really long way to this. (Took me about 6 months (!!) to finally decide on which one it should be and so on..) My sister got a VW from my parents when she finished her studies, and now I'm close to it... so they do the same great thing to me, only with the difference that it's and AUDI. cool, ha? really looking forward to it - it will be here in march - because then I do not always have to borrow the one of my partens to go to my horse and so on.... hihihihi...
well, girls with you a great beginning of the week.
kisses from freezing vienna!
Morning, girls!
Hey, I also have to do a lot of uni-stuff, especially now I started with my thesis, but I realized: I am the Queen in finding other stuff to do! I organized already a meeting for Geographers in exam, excursions for Geographers in exam, soocer-match, and then I am in the organization-team of the erasmus-team. Jippie, at least I am not bored. But I become already a bit nervous, I mean, I don't register for my diploma, but still...
The good thing is, in the moment I am still interested in my subject, so I should take advantage of it...
So, I have to go to try to get some tickets for the psylogical party tomorrow (it will be in an underground garage, psycho, isn't it?).
Enjoy your day!
Yvonni
@Eleni: I didn't find the timetable at this page but on the homepage. And huuaaarrrr, it will be really difficult to come home from Frankfurt to Münster, but... don't mind (?)!
Ybovvn - 9. Nov, 09:59
it sounds sooo nice to hear you talking about meeting in finland. yvonni, i'm sure you're gonna enjoy our stay very much! ;) Would really love to join you up there but I really have to get my studies finished now. Well, in fact before I will do this in january I'm going on holiday anyway for some days. I'm gonna visit a friend of mine in paris at the end of november. ... although this riots don't sound very inviting at the moment.
hope you are all fine, girls... i'm going back to my intersesting law-boooks. :) Filakia!!
Thanks for the facts, Yvonne. www.vr.fi you can see train timetables from tampere to helsinki. From the airport at Tampere you must take a bus to center. I think I told the timetables at this site to Anna in June, perhaps you'll find it here.
When you arrive at tampere railway station, I would like to recommend a really nice (and cheap!) pub called Ale pub. Anna already tried it and loved it :) There you'll see pure finnish life and typical finnish people :)
I think we will find enough space for us at our flat so you don't have to go to a hostel.
I'm really waiting for my trip to Copenhagen next weekend. It's so rainy and dark and boring here that otherwise I would get depressed.
have ordered a lot of snow already, let's hope that the delivery is here when Yvonne & co. arrive.
