I must say that I feel a bit stupid to write here. Geli is travelling around the world, Jutta just moved to Crete and well, with Eleni everything is the same. So I don't really know what to write. Well, I'm not working in the pharmacy anymore and I applied a job from uni. I would help in a research project. Yesterday our professor called me and said that if I will also do my master's thesis of the project, I would probably get the job. I'll know it today if I'll start working there or not.
My sister, Elina moved back to Helsinki and she lives pretty close to me so we've been hanging together a lot. It's nice to have ex tempore company to whom you can call anytime to do something together in five minutes :)
Please, Yvonne, tell us that your life is as normal as mine and nothing really special is happening there :)

hey girls! sorry, I have also not written for a looong time. I was really buzy with checking my world trip. but finally ot started and I`m r e l a x e d ! :)
I`m in Salvador de Bahia at the moment. lastet 30 hours to come from my flat in vienna to our hostel in salvador. crazy. also because of the immense change in time. you are comletly confused in the beginning. so on the airport in sao paulo we ended up ordering a big mac at mc donalds at about 9 a.m. because for us in was time for lunch. anyway. it`s really nice here. i`m travelling with a friend of mine, minni. will make a round trough south america. brazil, peru (visiting angelo!) and chile. after that i`m going to fly to fiji and meet thomas there to spend some weeks with him on the islands and in australia.
will tell you more soon!
sending you kisses!! :)
Kalimera sas!
Sorry Eleni, that I didn't answer earlier, when you asked if I'm already in Crete - yes I am, for 2 weeks now!
Until now there are not so many things to tell: it's quite nice here, the people in the lab are very nice as well, but a little bit careful towards me (Greek scientists can be even a little bit shy...), my boss is great (at least what I can tell until now), the weather is gorgeous, but I realized when you live just 50 meters of the beach, it's not so interesting to go for swimming, I've only spent one day on the beach until now (but afterwards I'll play some volleyball).
Until now it feels a little bit like ERASMUS, with the only difference that I spend 10 hours a day at work (I'm not WORKING for 10 hours, but I don't have internet at home). I'm living with our German diploma student and there are 2 French friends of her, who do a practical training here during summer and we're going out quite a lot, or just sitting together drinking and smoking waterpipe.
So my time is passing and now the only thing that's missing is a flat. I don't feel very comfortable to ask the people in the lab to help me, because as I know me, it will take some time until I'm satisfied, so I'm thinking of getting a real estate agent for me (I'm a snob, I know, but it would make my life much easier and they are not soo expensive here, they just charge you half of a month's rent). The German girl I'm living with right now wants me to stay with her, but I think I would prefer to have my own home (since I'm used to living alone for 7 years now and in her flat there are not 2 extra rooms). And I want to look for something where I can accomodate you all, but for me it's sure, that I won't stay directly at the beach, it's not worth the price difference and it's very noisy down there and very very touristic! For example 500 meters up the hill you can get a 70m2 flat for 350 euro, near the beach you can find 35m2 flats for the same price! I'll tell you more when I've found something.
So that's it from me now, I have to do some "research" on small cars, since I want to buy a car before winter starts.

Hey girls...
Would be nice to be bored... I already got stomachache in the last days because of too much stress. My fucking Greece-exam was hell, I am just lucky that I didn't failed. It was horrible.
And next week I have to start preparing the next exam. God, I hate exams.
The last weeks were horrible at all. After Sweden (or better: I had them already in Sweden, but I didn't know) I was so sick all the time (Steptokokken, they take all the iron out of your body, not nice), afterwards this one horrible week at my uncles place and the studying, studying, studying. I will be so happy when I finish all this.
Hope, at least YOU are fine ;)

I haven't written for you for a long time because nothing has happened. I have had my 2 months holiday and I've been super bored. On the other hand it's nice to have a long holiday, but when you're not working, you don't have money to do anything :( But I'm happy that I had time to spend in my hometown. University will begin on Monday and I'm really waiting forward for it! I wanna do something useful! Or at least do SOMETHING!
How are you all? Is Greekfreak already in Greece?
Enjoy the end of the summer!
Eleni - 2. Sep, 15:05
After one week away in Sweden and one week visiting my uncle in Southwest-France (which was definitly too much family) I am quite busy in the moment to prepare my exams. In the moment Greece, and right now I am a bit afraid that one more week studying I will hate this country. I have to be careful ;)! And this morning I just get my second exam date: 20th. October, so I have some free time between, which I will use to prepare for the third exam... So, you see, nice life in the moment, hm?
But in the moment I am really looking forward to finish the studies, moving to an one flat, starting with a new part of life. Stduying annoys after a while :(!

don't worry yvonni! my birthday was on the 9th, so you were perfect on time! thanks for the wishes! :) Hope you are better by now.
My life is quite exciting as well at the moment. I'm working 3-4 days a week and I'm preparing for some riding-competitioins which are taking palce next week and after. Besides I'm preparing our big trip which will start on the 19th of september... and so on. Thomas has also been mooving in to my flat in the last weeks. Was pure chaos and a bit of fighting but I think that's normal. And anyway, now everything is fine again! So a lot to do in fact. But I'm happy. So it's fine. :)
Hope you are also fine, gilrs! Would love to hear some news.
Have a nice weekend! Kisses from Vienna
Sorry, Geli, I didn't forget your birthday, but in the moment my life is a bit like hell. Since two weeks I am really sick, more than one week I have to take antibiotics. And I really have to prepare for my first exam. At least it is really nice to study, cause the subject will be "Greece". Everything about the country: landscape, inhabitants, economics, history, city structures... At least two years after I will learn everything about the country, and it is really, really interesting!
So, sorry, Geli, Happy Birthday - a bit to late - but I hope you enjoyed the day!

Come and visit me!!! All of you!!!
I'll be in Crete from the beginning of September and my first task will be to find a huge flat, so that I can house all my visitors :-)
I feel the same like you Yvonni, I haven't been to Greece since the Peloponissos trip, more than 2 years!!! It started last summer in Sweden that I desperately wanted to go to Greece, but until now I didn't have time.
BUT perhaps perhaps I'll go and visit Panos (my former Greek teacher from Germany) in Chalkidiki in August and then I'll have 3 years in Crete, should be enough ;-)
Yesterday I had a small presentation because my results are so good. It's a nice feeling, to be useful, even if I don't get much money for it.
And today I'm totally hang-over, because Christoph had his diploma exam yesterday and there were not so many people left to party with him (I'm afraid in 1 year I won't have many friends left in Vienna, everybody leaves to work somewhere else), so me and a friend drank for several people ;-)
I think I shouldn't drink during the weeks anymore and I'll never do it - ok perhaps on my birthday but afterwards NEVER again ;-))))))
How are you girls??? Have you already been to Sweden Yvonne? And Eleni, still enjoying your balcony?? Geli, probably planning your Sponsionsfeier (diploma party)???

Sorry, girls, I just was too busy in the last time.
Finally I finished my thesis, I hope it went good, the result will be given to me in 8 or 10 weeks... So, in the meanwhile I will go to Sweden for our canoeing trip and afterwards I have to start with my exams, 5 at all! And my first will be about Greece :)! Will be nice to read a lot about Greece, it makes more fun to learn such things than anything else I guess!
How is the rest of you? Celebrating midsummer???
Filakia,
Yvonni
