well, I also decided for me today what to do... it's like this...
I'll have my big exam now in about 2 weeks and if I don't pass it I have to repeat it in the end of June. So I'm gonna wait till the 20th of april, then I can decide what do to finally.
Sorry Jutta, so I can't book together with you now. But would be a bit shit if I buy a ticket and then I can't go finally.
But I'm studying hard now so we can all celebrate together! :)
I read your conversation Geli and Eleni and now I'll tell you my opinion. I don't think, that I'll come from Sweden, because it's already a little bit late to search for an accomodation for June... but I told them, that I could work from June till August.
I would like to spend some days in Helsinki, then going to Eleni's summer cottage would be really great and perhaps in the end one or a half day Tampere. I think it wouldn't be such a problem to walk around the city alone, if you have to work Eleni. So for me, coming around the 22nd and going around the 27th or the day before would be great. Of course flying together with you Geli would be nice, so just tell me your plans, I'll already have holidays by then, of course, I can't book the flight unless I get more information from Sweden, but the only problem with this is, that the flights will become even more expensive.
Geli I don't know, if it's also for Helsinki, but today from 19:00 there's crazy night from German Wings. I would hava a friend in Cologne, where we could stay over night (I didn't ask her by now, but I'm sure, it wouldn't be a problem).

It's really up to you, I do what you want to do here! But Finns usually spend midsummer fest in the countryside with sauna, lake and beer. Or in a music festival, but I quess you are not really interested in listening just Finnish music and paying a fortune of that...
So, you can just tell me what you want to do and we'll do it! Geli's plan about taking a flight to Helsinki and the flight back from Tampere sounds good. But you can also do it in any other way, it won't be a problem. Would it be more expensive for you to take the flights to/from different airport in Finland? But I think that for you it would be nice to see some Helsinki first and then go somewhere else (summer cottage?) to spend juhannus. And if you want to see Tampere, we could spend there some time before taking you to airport. I still don't know If I have to work 22nd and 23rd but let's hope for the best!
I just came home from work and I almost had to start fighting with the last customer! She came there (behind the doors) 1 minute after closing time and she insisted that i still have to give her the medicine (ok, perhaps I could have been a bit understanding, her child was ill, but I wanted to go home!). She said that she's sure that our time in pharmacy is not right and she knows the exact time in Finland... Then she wanted to have my boss' phone number and I gave it to her but still she wasn't happy. She yelled that this is not right, I will not go anywhere from here etc. She was a big M.A.L.A.G.A. but finally I gave up and opened our computer programs again and prepared the medicine (i had to mix and shake the medicine). Geli, does Thomas love working in a pharmacy as much as I do?...
Ok now I should start trying to sleep, I have an early lesson.
Good night girls!
Eleni - 6. Apr, 23:02
so, girls... what do you think? Where shall we go finally? Helsinki, Tampere, both? I really don't mind...
I haven't seen Tampere and I haven't seen Helsinki yet, so I think both would be interesting, and if Eleni could really manage to find a place with sauna, and a lake for us... what do we need more? :)
But what about starting the trip i.e. in Helsinki and leaving from Tampere to go back home, or the other way round.
Eleni, where do you think the 24/25th would be better to celebrate, in town or in the countryside.... ?
yes, tampere is much closer to our summer cottage. And for me it would be ok if you would come to tampere and then we would go to this cottage. If you don't mind that this ways you don't see Helsinki ? Anyway, Tampere is also a nice town, if you want we could also spend some time there. I think i could manage an accommodation there.
But: I'm not sure how long juhannus-holiday I will get from the pharmacy. At least I'm promised to get 24. , 25., and 26. free. I will ask if I can also get 22. and 23.
tell me if i still didn't understand something :)
Have a nice day!
Eleni - 6. Apr, 11:51
I only thought that it would be maybe better to go to tampere because you said that we'll go to a place close to your hometown maybe. And because I think your hometown is closer to tampere than to helsinki I thought I would be a good idea to go to tampere etc.. :)
but, ok. Helsinki is the plan.
Let's see what they have for helsinki.
Yvonne, perhaps this is your change:
http://www.superfast.com/baltic/german/index.asp
I don't know how expensive it is to travel inside Germany but check it out! The cheapest price rostock-hanko is 154€ (2 ways). From Hanko it costs 20 € to Helsinki.
bye,
Eleni
Eleni - 5. Apr, 14:30
It's like this: The airport in Tampere (ryanair, right?) is in the middle of nowhere. First you have to take a bus from there to Tampere (about 1 hour, about 5€). It goes about 2 times in an hour. Then, when you're finally in Tampere, you have to take a train to Helsinki (2 hours, 20 €) . The train goes 1-2 times in an hour. So, if it's not really much cheaper to fly to Tampere, I wouldn't recommend it.
Yvonne, it's sad that you can't come but i understand it. Let's still hope that you will win in the lottery :)
And Geli, it's already a bit better if you can take a flight on 25th at 16:45. But still I think that you'll miss sth if you have to leave already then. Don't you know that good students start studying many weeks before the exam and on the last day before it you don't have to do anything...

Eleni - 5. Apr, 13:52
well, I can understand this... it's really amazing how much flights cost at the moment....
but who knows... maybe you can really still make it somehow. Would be perfect to celebrate it all together!
Anna is also planning and looking for flights as far as I know. Looking for flights to Helsinki or Tampere. But as you said, Yvonni, it's strange... also from Germany this time it's really surprisingly expanisve.
Let's see how we can do this!
Kisses
Hey girls!
I just looked for flights, and although they are much cheaper from Germany (120€ from Hannover to Helsinki and back), I really don't think that I can affort it. I would like to do so many trips this year, but I still don't have a new job and I think I have to pay the first rate for the excursion soon. And when I come to Helsinki it is not only paying the flights, I mean, we wanna enjoy the time, right? So, sorry, but I think johannus has to be celebrated without me... But you can guess, how bad it is for me to tell you that!
Perhaps, when something unbelievable will happen I can book spontanous, but don't count on me...
Ybovvn - 4. Apr, 22:10
shall we try to fly to tampere instead of helsinki on the 21th?
found new flights... is 16.45 from helsinki on the 25th ok? or is it still too early? the shit thing is that I'm having an exam on monday morning and I should at least study one day (sunday) for it, so going back on the 26th is a bit late. You think 25th afternoon is shit?
Gelitsaki, are you sure that you can't take a flight on 26th? I tried it with ebookers and it was even a bit cheaper than 280 €. But i'm bad with those online-booking, so i don't know...
Jutti, if you will go to Sweden, then you can take a Silja Line or Viking Line boat from Stockholm to Helsinki. It shouldn't cost much more than 20 €.
Yvonne, how about you? and does anyone know about Annuli?
Eleni - 4. Apr, 16:44
I just chekced my flights and... horrible expansive!! But whatever... the cheepest possibility with around 280€ all together would be from the 22.-25.
But the shitty thing is that the flight on the 25th is already going at 8 in the morning... Not very practical, hm? But I thnik it's not really possible in a differnet way. WHAT SHALL I DO?
Hi!
I can't say no, when there's a party going on. Of course, I'll come, money shouldn't be a problem and exams neither. The only thing is, that I still don't know if I will work in Sweden by then. But I'll come!!!
Eleni - I think you will know, what's the best way to spend juhannus, I trust you!
Filakia
Greekfreak - 4. Apr, 10:01
yes, yes, yes!!! I really would love to come, Eleni... I only have to check it with my exams now once again and have a look at the flights.... WE HAVE TO DO THIS!!! Girls, what do you say? Where are you all??
Filakia
Yes, you are all welcome to come here to spend juhannus! The main festival days are 24.-25.6. My boss already promised that I don't have to work then.
What do you want to see/do it Finland? If you want to see Helsinki AND spend a nice juhannus, I would propose that you should come here some days before juhannus. We could go around Helsinki for some days and then go somewhere else to spend juhannus. Helsinki will be almost completely empty during juhannus cos all the people go somewhere on the countryside.
I probably told you about a big music Festival during juhannus. You can check it out yourself: www.rmj.fi, the website is also in English. But the tickets are super expensive: 2 days 71€, and all the bands usually Finnish, so I don't know how much you would enjoy it... That's why I propose this:
I can ask if my parents' summer cottage will be free then. It's close to my home town, so a bit far from Helsinki but we can arrange this. It's tiny and without facilities (no indoor toilet, no shower etc), but it's next to a lake. So: sauna, swimming, sauna, swimmming, sauna, grilling... We could buy some nice food and drinks and play paskahousu (=shitty trousers), go rowing.... That's Finnish juhannus! How does it sound?
But if you don't have enough time or something, we can also spend the juhannus here in Helsinki. No problem, what do we need all the Helsinki-people for when we are here? :)
Tell me what do you think,
Eleni
Eleni - 3. Apr, 14:25
because of midsummer in suomi... are there any plans concerning this by now? Can we really come and party with you?
And Yvonni, Jutta, are you planning to come now?
And when is the party-time finally? on the 2oth, 21th june or on the weekend, 24th, 25th?
Questions, questions, questions....
But I really would love to do this...
puh, I can tell you... no fun! I'm studying all the time.. and I'm stressed a lot with it. My exam will be in ... 20 days and Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! This is definitly not enough time!
Whatever... I'm thinking a lot to greece and all the things we have done, the places we have been and the people we have met in the last time... senitimental, yes, a bit....
WAS A GREAT TIME!!! :)
Hope to see you soon! ... to be a bit senitimental together...
Kisses
Hi girls!
It's really a little bit hard to write right now, because I just stuck (is it stick - stuck - stuck???) two fingers of mine together, because my little finger hurts for some days now (I think I sprained it or even cracked it a little bit, I don't know where, but I did the same as during volleyball matches, stick them together and wait until it's healed again). I think it's a computer illness, because it hurts most when I have to move the mouse, but also when I have some learning material in my hand - ok perhaps is psychological ;-)
Do you know the feeling, when nothing special is happening but still you don't have time for anything??? It's really strange, time is running, but still I can't tell you a story about what I did in the last time, just small unspectacular things, like going to the cinema ("Life aquatic with Steve Zissou" really strange, but I liked it!!!) or a house-warming party (only girls and couples, where are the men??) or throwing away old clothes (should I give them to poor people in Austria or in the 3rd world???)....
One last thing: yesterday I put the bottles of my greek food from last saturday on the cupboard. Geli, did you realize, that we two drank almost 2 liters of retsina...???
Filakia, Jutta
PS: yesterday I realized that crispbread has more calories than dried sugared pineapples, so pineapples are "healthier" than crispbread and they taste better - juhu!!!
Greekfreak - 21. Mar, 11:52
Sorry, but I have to add my favorite smilies, ok?
Here they are:

Ybovvn - 12. Mar, 12:00
I'm sorry about the colours, but I also don't know exactly why I don't like it! Perhaps if we could change the background. I think it is a bit difficult to read!
I will get an erasmus-student soon, too! Jippie! I hope it is a greek one, but finally I don't care. It will be quite cool, I hope!
Yesterday the should a movie in TV about a marriage between a german and a greek guy, and they did a trip through the Aegian Sea/Dodecanes. Popo, it was so beautiful. And they spoke Greek a lot (I think if I couldn't understand it, I would have been a bit annoyed!): Ti ginetai? Karpusi, nektarines? dio potiria krasi, parakalo! Huuuaaaar, now I know that I miss Greece really a lot, mostly the country, not the people!
Have to do some shopping now, lechz!
Geli: Smilies are easy to find, only search with google. There are a lot of pages like www.smiliemania.de, ...
Ybovvn - 12. Mar, 11:57
Hey, if you are really ennoyed and don't find the way by yourself, just tell me what colors you want and I'll do it, ok? No problem!
Anyway, I think it was good that you called this - finally not very nice and polite guy. Good job, Yvonni!!! Otherwise you maybe would have thought about this thing a lot of times and thought "what if I would have called.... etc".
Now you definitly know that you don't miss anything with this guy. He was maybe good enough for one nice evening, but obviously not for more. :)
Pah, I'm studying all the time at the moment.... BORING!!! My head is spinning and my ass is hurting from sitting and reading all the time!
But at least they said that the freezing snow-weather is going to leave us soon and that spring is coming! Jippiieeh!
And the very best is, the greek-freak-girl is making some nice greek food at her place tomorrow evening (Jutta, you see, now I remember the day! Finally... :) )!! And this is gonna be goooood for sure!
Didn't want you to make too jealous! ;-)
Kisses and have a nice weekend!
Yvonni, where did you find the smilies! I WANT TOO!
